Passengers at Las Vegas McCarran International Airport (LAS) may like to allow time to make full use of the available onsite facilities within its two main terminal buildings and four concourse areas. Whether you are simply looking for some duty free perfume or cigarettes, or have time to enjoy a sitdown meal at one of the restaurants, there is certainly plenty of choice.

In the center of the main terminal building, passenger will find the 'Esplanade' which is a large waiting area, full of excellent airport restaurants, bars, coffee shops, snack bars, cafes, fast-food outlets and many popular stores. McCarran Airport also boasts an extensive permanent art collection with murals and dramatic glass sculptures, a checkpoint 'mail it home' service, free Wi-Fi access and a taste of what's to come on the Las Vegas Strip with its numerous slot machines. Servicemen, military staff and their families can now use the recently opened USO center, where computer stations, video gaming and lounges await.

Information desks are situated on Level 1 between the baggage reclaim areas, and also on Level 2, at the west area of the esplanade. Staff can provide foreign language translation where necessary. If you require assistance after hours, then dial '0' on one of the white courtesy telephones.

Shops, Duty-Free and Retail Outlets


The airport has an amply supply of shopping opportunities situated within the terminals and the central 'Esplanade' waiting area. These include names such as Brighton Collectibles, Brookstone, the Candy Shoppe, Ethel M. Chocolates, Hudson News, Kids Works, Las Vegas Fruit and Nuts, Nevada Diamond CZ, Perfumania and Vegas Special Tees. International travelers may also like to take advantage of the Liberty Duty Free (close to gate B-17) and Tax Free Duty Free (near gates B-15 and D-26) stores.

Bars, Cafés and Restaurants


There are many different places to eat at McCarran International, a number of which are open 24 hours a day. Popular choices include the Blue Burrito Grille, Burger King, Chili's Too, Cinnabon, Flatbreadz, Moe's Southwest Grill, Pizza Hut Express, Port of Subs, Sbarro Italian Cooking, Starbucks, TCBY Pretzels and Wendy's. If you have the time, you may like to enjoy a leisurely meal at the Las Vegas Sports Lounge, while if you are in a bit of a rush, then visit Buy-N-Fly and grab something to eat on the plane, or simply use one of the Best Buy Express vending machines.

Currency Exchange, Communications and Banking Facilities


Many currency exchange services are available, as well as ATM cashpoint. There is also a full-service branch of Wells Fargo Bank, which is located on Level 2 of the Esplanade and open Monday to Thursday between 09:00 to 17:00, and on Friday between 09:00 to 18:00. Pay telephones are in good supply, accepting the majority of major credit cards. If you need to email someone and don't have your laptop or Smart phone, then you can always use one of the 40+ Embarq devices sited in the payphone banks areas of Terminals 1 and 2.

McCarran Airport features plenty of adaptations to make the lives of disabled travelers easier. These include curbside assistance, wheelchairs, TDD telephones with special LED screens, nearby parking spaces and adapted restrooms with room for companions / carers. There is also a visual paging service (simply dial '0' from the white courtesy telephones) shown on the Flight Information Display Screens, should you need to get in contact with someone who is hard of hearing. If you have requested assistance or a wheelchair, you should allow up to 45 minutes, unless you have made your arrangements in advance.

Other Facilities


Other facilities at LAS include an onsite post office, a medical center with first aid facilities, a fitness center with gym equipment, and an Airport SpeedCheck Advance service for luggage. Slots machines are also available in all of the terminal buildings, along will Smart Carte luggage trolleys, lockers, mail drop boxes, recharge zones and shoeshine services. Complying with the state law of Nevada, smoking is strictly prohibited within all of the indoor areas.
