One of the biggest and busiest airports in the whole of the world, Las Vegas McCarran Airport (LAS) handles around 30 million passengers annually and is approximately 2 miles / 3 km from the glitzy Strip. Many world-famous hotel casinos line much of the famous Las Vegas Strip, offering literally thousands of rooms, together with exceptional gambling facilities. Each week, the city caters for over half a million visitors.
Some of the most famous hotels in Las Vegas include Caesars Palace, Circus Circus, Excalibur Hotel Casino, Flamingo Hilton, Fremont Hotel Casino, Golden Nugget, Imperial Palace, Monte Carlo and the Tropicana Hotel Casino. The most luxurious accommodation tends to be located at the southern end of the Strip, with establishments often including their own shopping centers, restaurants and even small theme parks.
The best hotel rates in Las Vegas are without a doubt midweek, when rooms are at their cheapest, although prices can fluctuate depending upon demand. Slightly more expensive, the Monte Carlo, Luxor and MGM Grand hotels are all located long the Las Vegas Boulevard and regularly offer many affordable rooms.
